The Mid North Mesonet project has established a state-of-the-art automatic weather station network.
In meteorology a Mesonet is a network of automated weather stations designed to observe localised meteorological phenomena.
The network is a weather monitoring and warning system sufficient to provide highly accurate and targeted data on the development and presence of adverse conditions for spraying.
The network of 40 automatic weather stations spreads across the region, stretching to Jamestown and Port Pirie in the north, through the Clare Valley and almost to Two Wells in the south.
The network is freely accessible to the public.
